Windy of Chicago
Sail on a Tall Ship! The Whole family can relax and enjoy this great experience. The Tall Ship Windy, is a 150 foot, four masted schooner, that is fun to sail aboard and to enjoy a quiet sailing experience. Take in the skyline views from our decks. You can also particatpate in hoisting the sails or have your picture taken at them helm.

Sail Times:
May-October: Daily, weather permiting: 10:30 am, 11:45 am, 1:30 pm, and 3:15 pm

Closed

May be closed major U.S. holidays. CLOSED IN WINTER.

Redemption Instructions

Please present your Go Chicago Card at the ticket office window. It will be validated, and returned with a boarding pass for the cruise you have chosen.

Your Go Chicago Card is valid for one cruise per day. You may choose either the Skyline Boat Tour, the Architectural River Cruise, or the Tall Ship Windy.

Note

Due to a Special Event Tall Ship Windy will not be operating Aug 11-14th

Parking on and near Navy Pier, allow extra time for parking.

Public Transportation

Take CTA: Buses #29 (State Street), #65 (Grand Avenue), #56 (Milwaukee Avenue), #66 (Chicago Avenue), #120 (Northwestern/Wacker Express), and #121 (Union/Wacker Express) serve the Navy Pier. #124 Navy Pier Express runs from Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center on weekends. Call the CTA at 312-836-7000 for information.

The pirates were so friendly, welcoming, and extremely entertaining! The stories were well researched and came alive in the telling. The senic views were breath taking!! I would recommend this to everyone!

Comments about Smart Destinations Tall Ship Windy:

We took the tour on a Saturday at 11:00, the crew let those on the tour hoist the sails if they wanted to. My friend and I hoisted up the main sail, was a very fun experience! The tour was 70 minutes and "pirate" Zach was there for "Story time" telling tales of real pirates from the surrounding area. Was very informative and captured the attention of all aboard. Great for kids all the way to grandparents!
