Navy Pier - Metropolitan Pier & Exposition Authority

Go a little overboard at Navy Pier’s Pier Park, an outdoor landscaped area which features attractions such as a permanent 150-foot-high Ferris Wheel*, a Musical Carousel*, an Old-Fashioned Swing Ride*, an 18-Hole Miniature Golf Course* and The Light House* at Navy Pier.

Navy Pier Carousel* : The Carousel’s three dozen hand-painted animals represent the different styles of American folk art used throughout the history of carousels. Horses, chariots, and a playful frog are just a few of the featured characters waiting to carry children of all ages.

Navy Pier Ferris Wheel: Take a ride on Navy Pier’s most visible attraction, the 150-foot-high Ferris wheel. The Navy Pier Ferris wheel lifts visitors to unparalleled sweeping views of the skyline and lakefront. The Pier’s wheel has forty gondolas seating six passengers each and in the evening thousands of sparkling lights illuminate the wheel’s forty 140-foot-diameter spokes.

The Light House at Navy Pier* : Kids find excitement on the Light House. The attraction takes riders slowly up to the top then bounces gently downward.

The Links at Navy Pier* : Putt, putt, putt your way around Pier Park on the Pier’s 18-hole miniature golf course. It weaves around the base of the Ferris wheel while touring Chicago themed golf holes.

Navy Pier Wave Swinger* : Swing around Pier Park on the “Wave Swinger” thrill ride, towering nearly forty feet over a pond of water. This exhilarating forty-eight seat swing ride lifts visitors fourteen feet in the air and whisks them around past unique lakeside views.

Comments about Smart Destinations Navy Pier:

The Navy pier was awesome, many differnt things to do, and lots of dining choices however you should try to take the free trolley offer by the city of Chicago or take a cab there otherwise you will be walking a very long distance from the closest train stop, also if all possible you shoould try going during the week instead of the weekend so is not so crowded and you dont have to wait in line for ever to do anything, and it gets really cold and windy at night even on summer time and also beware of spiders on Ferris wheel.
