Please present your Go Chicago Card at the ticket office window. It will be validated, and returned with a 2-day boarding pass for the Hop On Hop Off Trolley Tour
You must pick up your Trolley pass at the Gray Line tour office located at the Palmer House Hilton or at Gray Line Booth outside the Historical Pumping Station, located at 163 E Pearson (inside Historical Pumping Station). Boarding and leaving the trolley is permitted at designated stops only. Go Chicago Card is valid (per the life of the card) for your choice of one Gray Line tour per day (choice of Trolley, North Side, South Shore or Grand Tour). Tours are occasionally not operational due to special events, outside of the control of Go Chicago Card.
The Hop On Hop Off Trolley is a great way to see many of the best things to see and do in Chicago, it is even a great way to get to them. The tour provides easy access to such sights as the Field Museum of Natural History, the Adler Planetarium, the Shedd Aquarium, the Art Institute, the Willis Tower (and SkyDeck Chicago), the John Hancock Tower, the Navy Pier, the North Pier, and Water Tower Place.
Comments about Smart Destinations Gray Line Hop On Hop Off Trolley Tour:
With Canadian Guests, wonderful quick way to tour beautiful Chicago. Informative On-Board Tour Guide. Get on/off at leisure/or not. On One fare, take the day to visit Chicago tourist attractions. Another set of Vancouver, Canada guests LOVED it. (Sorry about the whining Manitoba tourist, my home province.) Do your homework upfront for a most enjoyable day.

Comments about Smart Destinations Gray Line Hop On Hop Off Trolley Tour:
Was in chicago for 5 days, used the trolley for the last 2 days and was not happy. Trying to get your "slip" to ride the trolley is hard enough with no hours posted for the "desk" and the fact that it is hidden in the back of a store on the main floor of the Palmer House Hilton, with no signage showing where it is! They always say "you just missed a bus and another one will be along in 20 minutes" and then you wait for 40 minutes. They almost made us miss our flight home because they, on the fly, deviated from the stop schedule missing our stop by our hotel and proceeded to Navy Pier and took a "smoke" break for 15 minutes! Then when we complained droped us off on North Michigan about 10 minutes north of the scheduled stop and so we had to run 20 minutes back to our hotel and we missed our shuttle to the airport! It's nice that it's free but don't rely on them to get you anywhere on time. Go Chicago should team up with another of the trolley companies in my opinion because this one is damaging their reputation.

Comments about Smart Destinations Gray Line Hop On Hop Off Trolley Tour:
Waste of time and money if you pay for it out of pocket, but b/c it was included on the go card it wasnt so bad, the 2 days we only use it twice b/c everytime we tried t ouse it it took forever long to arrive that we got unpatient and ended up walking instead, and like the other person on the previous review sd there was no one to talk to, no specific signs of where to stand to wait for the trolly, really bad service and the day we went to the adler planetarium and field museum we left field museum early with out even finishing our walk through so that we could catch the last trolley at 5:20p we got to the stop at 5:10 we waited until 6:30p and the trolley never showed up so we eneded up walking back to the city, also when you did find an agent they alwayss say next ride is in 20 mintues but its always way longer than that, so yeah in 2 dyas we only got to ride it twice.

Comments about Smart Destinations Gray Line Hop On Hop Off Trolley Tour:
I went to the Grayline ticket counter at 10 a.m. on Saturday, 10/10/09, and found a long line going out the door. After standing there for about 15 minutes, I asked someone else in line what was taking so long and was told that the Grayline person was "on break." Note there was only one Grayline person working. So just to get my card activated and a "Hop on, Hop Off" Trolley pass, I waited about an hour. Then when my 7-year-old and I went to get the trolley outside, there was no signage as to where to stand for it. We finally spotted a Grayline representative who told us that we "just missed" a trolley and that the next one would be by in "about 20 minutes." Probably another 40 minutes went by before the trolley came. There were no seats on the bottom in the warm part of the trolley and we were forced to sit on top in the open part (and it was very cold up there!). We took the trolley to the Museum Campus and when we went to leave the Museum Campus, we again waited for at least a half an hour, maybe longer--no trolley. So I wound up paying for a CTA bus in order to get us back into the City. Because of the long wait times, we were able to only visit one museum on the museum campus and were not able to fit in any other sites--which to me wasted the value of the whole "Go Chicago Card." Today (10/11) we waited almost an hour outside of the Willis Tower for a trolley. Needless to say, we didn't make very good use of the Go Chicago Card today, either. For me, the Grayline trolley service negated any value the Go Chicago Pass may have otherwise provided.
